Dewatered Sludge
Less Water = Higher ProfitsWhat is Dewatered Sludge?
You probably already know that Dewatered Sludge is the sludge from various wastewater treatment processes after the water has been removed.
Dewatered Sludge is typically the end product for industrial wastewater treatment processes and plants.
After pH adjustment, wastewater chemicals addition, liquid solids separation or a biological process, and then sludge dewatering, you wind up with dewatered sludge that either can be further processed to reclaim raw materials, converted into another product such as with sewage sludge or disposed.
Dewatered Sludge at Its Best
Dewatered Sludge is either a real pain, or can be a real asset.
That sounds a little strange to call a waste product an asset but in some senses dewatered sludge really can be an asset.
For example, in municipal and other biological wastewater treatment processes the dewatered sludge can be used in various ways since it is so high in organic matter, fertilizer, soil amendment and so on.
In other industrial processes such as manufacturing many raw materials can be reclaimed during the liquids solids separation phase.
And of course, your dewatered sludge should be as dry as possible if disposal is the final disposition of the dewatered sludge. Then it weighs less, and you pay less to get rid of it.
