Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant

What is a Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant?
Or maybe the question should be what is the difference between a municipal wastewater treatment plant and an industrial wastewater treatment plant.
As the name implies, a municipal wastewater treatment plant is a wastewater treatment plant utilized by municipalities.
The difference lies in the fact that municipalities overwhelmingly deal with raw domestic sewage with some industrial wastewater mixed in. The industrial wastewater is typically already treated.
This means that the municipality is dealing with high soluble organics, high organic sludge constituents and is therefore using a biological wastewater treatment process.
An industrial wastewater treatment plant is likely using wastewater chemicals and chemistries rather than a biological process, though sometimes a biological wastewater process is utilized as part of the industrial wastewater system.
