Wastewater Treatment Basics Step 2

Wastewater Chemicals Addition

This is where the fun really begins. You've got your wastewater at an optimized pH (if needed) and ready for wastewater chemicals addition. This chemical addition will begin the precipitation of solids out of solution. Our custom flocculating agents that we call Floccin have been highly refined to address virtually all industrial wastewater making your subsequent liquids/solids separation a snap.

These flocculating agents or flocculants produce a great floc (flocculent) that is easily dewatered. Most contaminants are removed, such as:

  • BOD
  • TSS
  • Inks, Pigments and Dyes
  • Emulsified Fats, Oil and Grease
  • Phosphates
  • Helps reduce TDS and EC's vs. other chemistries
  • Heavy Metals

Wastewater chemicals should provide a multitude of reactions that simultaneously break emulsified oils in water, coagulate, change pH, encapsulate the metals and other contaminants, and achieve excellent flocculation to separate the solids from the waste stream, for easy dewatering.

After wastewater chemicals addition and mixing comes the liquid solids separation, the heart of wastewater treatment.
