pH adjust with co2
The sample was received was at a pH of 11.4 with a suspended solids of 2 ppm.
The CO2 was diffused in the water with a porous stone block and the pH was adjusted down to 6.95. The TSS was measured every 15 seconds and the TSS did not change (see the picture below for untreated at pH 11.4 and adjusted to a pH of 6.95). Therefore, there was no measurable post precipitation when pH adjusting using CO2.
At 11.4 pH, the TDS was 362 ppm (EC was 690 uS) and at a pH of 6.95, the TDS was 330 ppm and the EC was 628 uS. This shows a reduction in measurable ions in the pH adjusted water.
Part of the proposed 500 gpm system was to utilize this water and reuse 100% of it in their rock washing operations. The dosage was 0.25 grams/1,000 ml.
