Integrated's LMI 5000 CO2 pH Control System
The pH control system uses an LMI 5000 pH controller and probes integrated with carbon dioxide in 50 lb. or 600 lb. returnable containers or bulk to decrease the pH of water. The process of adding carbon dioxide to water converts the carbon dioxide to carbonic acid in the water, thereby decreasing the pH. The system includes the pH controller, pH probe, gas regulator, cryogenic solenoid valve, diffuser and delivery/replacement of the CO2 tanks as needed. The system is easy to calibrate and uses 120-volt AC for power.
The benefits as compared to mineral acids are
the following:
- non hazardous (documented inventory or manifests)
- no drum disposal costs
- no secondary containment needed
- no EC/TDS addition making the water reusable in many applications to higher cycles of concentration, as in cooling tower applications, prior to discharge.
