The water sample from a CUDD Energy oil field site was treated for solids reduction, BOD reduction, metals and dissolved metals.

Conclusion

The treatability shows the high removal rate for heavy metals, minimal increase in EC/TDS as shown in the anions/cations and high removal of particulate solids in the form of suspended solids. Increases are shown as negative percent reductions and are the contribution of the Floccin. The minimal increase is less than conventional chemistry. There was not enough sample to test for Total Petroleum hydrocarbons, COD, BOD or any bacterial colony counts.

Oily Wastewater Processing Facility Wastewater Treatment Case Study

Impressive Oil Water Separation

This is the result of our Floccin 1105™ product treating a sample from an oily wastewater treatment facility.  As you can see, the Floccin 1105™ was very effective at clarifying the waste as well as capturing all of the oil. These results were achieved with no pH adjustment and minimal Floccin™ addition (~ 1g/1000ml).

The client is going to purchase and install a CFU-20 to treat their 6,000 gallons/day and will either reuse the water for washing parts and equipment or discharge to the local POTW.

Oily Wastewater Treatment Jar Test Colorado Oil Patch

This sample is representative of the produced water from the Colorado oil patch region. The sample contains free and emulsified oil, dirt, and water.

The water is very saline (high in dissolved solids especially chlorides and sodium) which is common in this industry. The sample pH was measured to be 6.8. Floccin™ 1105 was used at a dosage of 0.8 grams/1,000 ml which is a dosage of 6.7 lbs per 1,000 gallons. The jar testing results are in the photo below:
